South Ribble Community Leisure has announced the reopening of its facilities at Bamber Bridge and Penwortham Leisure Centres, with Penwortham due to open again on Monday September 28th and Bamber Bridge following on October 19th.

The first site to reopen, Penwortham Leisure Centre will be offering lane swimming, family swimming, gym sessions as well as group exercise classes, Badminton and 3G football pitches.

Mark Snaylam, Contract Manager for South Ribble Community Leisure said:

"We're excited after six long months to finally be able to throw open our doors again to our members.

"People visiting the centres will see that we've introduced a whole host of safety measures to guarantee that our facilities are COVID-secure. We're strictly sticking to all Public Health England guidelines, ramped up the cleaning schedule, all to ensure customers and colleagues can feel reassured when they are using or working at our leisure centres.

"We have an online booking system in place so we can control the number of people in the centre at any one time. All sessions are bookable through our website and via the More Fitness App so it's super simple to book and secure a spot.

"We froze customers' accounts when centres were instructed to close back in March and we're looking forward to getting people back into their centres and benefitting from an active lifestyle, something that's more important than ever during these uncertain times."

South Ribble Community Leisure operates four centres in the region on behalf of South Ribble Borough Council. Its facilities at South Ribble Tennis Centre and Leyland Leisure Centre have been reopened since 25 July 2020.
