Universal Robots (UR), the worldwide leading provider of collaborative robots (cobots), is pleased to announced the return of its highly successful UK Automation Tour. The Cobot Automation Tour 2020 will kick-off in Preston at the Preston Marriot Hotel on Wednesday 19th February. Designed to give attendees a hands-on experience of the highly user-friendly and flexible UR collaborative robots (cobots), visitors will also hear directly from industry experts about how to best optimise production efficiency through automation. Together with its partners, Robotiq, igus, SICK, Piab and Ewellix, UR will demonstrate the myriad tasks that cobots can be programmed to complete, alleviating the human workforce of the most tedious, time-consuming and arduous jobs. This includes high precision tasks such as assembly, packaging and screwdriving. “Preston and the North West is recognised as a powerhouse for UK manufacturing,” says Mark Gray, UK Sales Manager at Universal Robots. “We’re delighted to be showcasing technologies that can truly increase productivity and have the power to bring more manufacturing jobs to the region.

“Due to their size, capability and price point, cobots are a viable solution for organisations of all sizes. For SMEs, recent leasing initiatives enable these companies to reap the rewards of automation without a capital investment.” The Preston event is free to attend and more information is available here.
