Local manufacturer, Baxi Heating, has once again been recognised by Investors in People (IIP), for excelling across a number of employment and staff development best practices.

Baxi Heating’s site based in Club Street, Bamber Bridge, Preston was part of the rigorous IIP reassessment, which revealed that 86 per cent of employees at Baxi Heating and its associated brands, agreed their work was interesting, and 71 per cent agreed managers motivate them to achieve their best. When assessing the company’s ability to empower people, 82 per cent agreed they were trusted to make their own decisions.

Having previously received the IIP accreditation in July 2015, this latest achievement marks the second successful formal assessment for the business. Baxi Heating will remain IIP accredited until 2021.

David Pinder, CEO, Baxi Heating, said: “Investing in new talent while retaining our valued and experienced staff is core to our employment policy, which is why we apply to be IIP assessed. The IIP standard is a respected and trusted barometer for measuring our performance as a responsible and supportive employer, in addition to showing staff morale levels. To achieve such a positive reassessment result reflects the consistent approach we take towards staff development and the focus given to aligning business strategy with employee capabilities.”

Manufacturing in the Preston area since 1866, Baxi Heating’s Club Street factory manufactures Baxi, Potterton and Main Heating boilers for UK homes. The site also houses the company’s extensive boiler research and development facilities.
