PROP Oga Mabaya has made his 100th appearance for Preston Grasshoppers in their home clash with Sedgeley Park.

The popular Zimbabwe-born forward led the team out to applause from fans and players alike to mark the achievement.

Starting at Hoppers in the Mini Rugby setup and coached by former 1st XV prop Lloyd Bell, Oga made his first team debut against Leicester Lions in 2011.

His 100 appearances consist of 68 starts and 32 appearances off the bench, as well as collecting four tries.

Speaking to the club website ahead of the match, Mabbaya said: "I am very proud and honoured to play 100 games for the Hoppers.

"I remembered my first appearance at Leicester Lions all those years ago. It has been a long road but with the help of a few ex-first team props Lloyd Bell, John Peterson and Dave Chadwick, I would not have been able to go as far as I have and for that I thank you."

Hoppers were narrowly edged out by a talented Sedgeley Park side who ran out eventual 36-31 victors.
