A MANUFACUTIRNG company based near Preston is set to create five jobs and two apprenticeships as it moves to larger premises.

The Odd Chair Company is currently based at Eaves Cottage Farm in Woodplumpton, where it makes and distributes its luxury furniture.

With a showroom in London and a growing international order book, The Odd Chair Company is seeking larger premises but has committed to staying in the Preston area.

The move will accommodate a growing need for additional manufacturing, showroom and office space and will allow the company to employ a further five staff and two apprentices, taking the team to 25.

As part of the plan, the company will redevelop its existing site to create mew, high quality homes.

Plans to demolish an existing studio and workshop and build five new houses around a central courtyard have been approved by Preston City Council.
