FORWARD N’Tumba Massanka became Chorley’s sixth summer acquisition following his release from Premier League side Burnley.

The 22-year-old spent six years at Turf Moor, enjoying loan spells at York City, Morecambe and Wrexham during his first few seasons as a professional.

He went on to divide the last campaign between Dover Athletic and Belgian third tier side RWDM47.

Magpies boss Jamie Vermiglio said: “We really happy to have completed the signing of another forward to give us a different option up top. N’Tumba has good experience at this level.”

Chorley’s first four games in their new league showed the size of the challenge facing the side, with three draws and one defeat to show from the season’s opening

That defeat came at home against a strong Solihull outfit, early pacemakers in the division that they finished runners-up in last season.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are set to host Championship neighbours Preston North End in the first round of the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

Full fixture details will be available in due course, but the tie is expected to be played before the end of September.

The club is competing in the highest level of the county’s cup competitions after promotion to the National League in May moved eligibility from the LFA Challenge Trophy.
